Man in motorcycle chase pleads guilty

HOUGHTON — A Houghton man pleaded guilty to fleeing police in April in Houghton County Circuit Court Wednesday.

Rudolph Voght, 31, had been scheduled for a two-day trial starting Thursday.

Voght fled police on his motorcycle after an attempted stop on Houghton Canal Road in April. He later surrendered to police in Ontonagon. The fleeing and eluding charge is a five-year felony.

As a condition of his plea bargain, Voght will not be subject to an enhanced sentence as a habitual offender.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 15.
