Storm blows pole in road

The top of two power polls snaped of on Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic Mine from high winds. Uppco and the Adams Township Volunteer Fire department were on seen.

A broken utility pole caused an outage impacting customers in the Atlantic Mine/Liminga area Tuesday morning. The pole was broken by strong, gusting winds. The Upper Peninsula Power Company reported about 3,200 customers in Keweenaw, Houghton, Ontonagon, Marquette, Alger and Delta counties were affected Tuesday by the storm, with Keweenaw and Houghton counties being the heaviest hit.
