Two-vehicle crash sends two drivers to hospital
OSCEOLA TOWNSHIP — A two-vehicle property damage crash resulted in both drivers being injured, according to a release from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office.
At 2:16 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the crash, which occurred on M-26 near the Airport Park Road in Osceola Township. One of the vehicles, driven by a 58-year-old Macomb, Michigan, man was unable to stop at a posted stop sign, and was struck by a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Houghton woman who was driving west on M-26.
Both vehicles then struck parked tractors in the parking lot of Wards Outdoor Equipment and Repair.
Both drivers were injured and transported to U.P. Health Systems Portage Hospital by friends and family. Names of the injured drivers were not released.
Dollar Bay Fire and first responders, Mercy Ambulance, and Superior Service Towing assisted at the scene.
