HOUGHTON — Houghton-Portage Township Schools approved its audit report at its meeting Monday, and also approved winter coaches and a parent advisory committee member.

The district received a clean opinion, the highest possible level, said Christina Smigowski of Rukkila, Negro & Associates, which performed the audit.

“We didn’t have to make any adjustments,” she said. “(Business manager) Sara (Marcotte) does a really good job of staying up on things and making sure everything is reported as it should be.”

The board nominated Bobbie Jo Holombo for reappointment as a member for the Copper Country Intermediate School District’s Parent Advisory Committee for Special Education. The nomination now goes to the CCISD board for approval. Holombo’s next three-year term would expire in 2021.
