Dianda praises court’s pay ruling

LANSING –Responding to Thursday’s ruling by the Michigan Supreme Court that the 3 percent of teacher pay held back by the state must be refunded, state Rep. Scott Dianda, D-Calumet, said, “Our teachers and local communities have reason to celebrate today, now that teachers and school employees will get back the money the state illegally withheld from their paychecks. The Snyder/Schuette administration fought returning this for seven long years, and I am glad that the Michigan Supreme Court has put an end to their delaying tactics and ruled for these hardworking Michigan citizens.”

“This was another example of this administration having the wrong priorities when it comes to our citizens. It’s been wrong on the issues in our homes for veterans and wrong to ignore the UIA fiasco for as long as it did. Today, the Michigan Supreme Court held the governor accountable by ruling in favor of the people.”
