Baraga County contracts for substance abuse services
BARAGA — Baraga County has updated its memorandum of agreement with the Great Lakes Recovery Center in Marquette.
The agreement is for the center’s distribution of employment assistance arogram services for county employees.
According to County Clerk Wendy Goodreau, the program has been around for over 18 years, but this is its second year the county is working with GLRC.
In the past the county has worked with the Western UP Substance Abuse Services.
Goodreau says the program is for “employees who may be having some issues.”
The program will allow them to get counseling if needed.
The center agreed to provide services for four sessions at a cost $15 for full-time employees and $8 for part-time. The sessions must be prepaid.
The center also agreed to provide screenings and assessments for employees and immediate family members.
Employees also will be given access to crisis information.
