Heart to heart: free presentation

HOUGHTON — Nearly one of every four deaths in the United States is caused by heart disease according to the CDC.

That’s around 610,000 people a year. To increase public knowledge, UP Health Systems is hosting a presentation on coronary artery disease, part of heart health month.

The talk is free and for everyone, said Dr. John Pap, an interventional cardiologist and the keynote speaker. Heart disease is something that affects us all, he explained.

Pap will go over diagnosis, treatment and prevention and he typically takes questions from the audience after the presentation.

The presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m. Feb 9, at the Michigan Tech Memorial Union Alumni Lounge and includes a free dinner.

Due to limited seating, registration is required. Seats can be reserved by calling 1-844-411-8747.
