Harbor dredging announced

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jack Bergman released the following information after working with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to ensure funding for Ontonagon Harbor Dredging:

“This week, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) released their FY18 work plan. Included in this work plan is $1.5 Million allocated to dredging the Ontonagon Harbor. Since taking office, I’ve met with constituents and leadership in Ontonagon who’ve stressed the importance of this project, and the economic impact it has on the area. While projects such as the Soo Locks and other main waterway projects often steal the headlines, it’s important to note the impact that projects such as the Ontonagon Harbor have on our communities throughout Michigan,” said Bergman.
