Autism Safety Day on Sept. 29
HOUGHTON — Autism Safety Day will enable children on the autism spectrum, their families, as well as other students with disabilities to socialize with emergency personnel in a non-emergency environment.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Houghton Elementary School, 203 Jacker Ave., in Houghton.
Children will be able to see inside the back of an ambulance, sit in a police car and see the lights, explore a fire truck and see the specialized equipment needed to keep community helpers safe.
Refreshments including pizza will be available.
