Drugs, soliciting bust in Calumet
CALUMET — A Calumet man was arrested Friday after a two-month Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) investigation into reports of illegally selling prescription drugs and attempted solicitation of sex for drugs.
The 54-year-old man was arrested after UPSET detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Pine Street in Calumet.
Detectives recovered prescription drugs along with a small amount of cash believed to be related to the sale of illegal prescription drugs, UPSET said in a release Friday. They also seized a pistol and two rifles.
The man was being held in Houghton County Jail.
The Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case.
UPSET was assisted by the Calumet Village Police Department, Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, Houghton County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police Calumet Post.
