LL-H Schools Board names new member

LAKE LINDEN — The Lake Linden-Hubbell Public Schools Board has a new member.

The board appointed Rob Johnson at a special meeting Monday. Johnson will replace Curtis Audette, who resigned from the board in December.

“I’m surprised and ecstatic,” said Johnson, who has worked as a process engineer with Calumet Electronics for 22 years. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with the School Board and serve my community.”

Two people applied for the position, said Superintendent Craig Sundblad.

Born and raised in Laurium, Johnson has lived in Lake Linden for the past 14 years. He has two children in the district, age 7 and 10. His 3-year-old daughter will also attend school in the district once she is old enough.

“I wanted to serve the school and my community, and take an active role in developing policies that affect my kids’ education and the kids of Lake Linden,” he said.

Johnson is also a member of the Lake Linden Parent-Teacher Organization. He also coaches for Copper Country Little league and the Copper Country Soccer Association.
