Per her wishes, she passed in her “Princess Bedroom” at the home of her parents, Michael Loughead and Elaine (Hadden) Loughead of 39781 Jacobsville Rd., Lake Linden, 49945, with Hospice Services.

Michele was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) eight years ago. She was treated for MS with Tysabari (natalizumab) leading to PML and IRIS and ultimately, her death. This valiant woman fought epilepsy, comas, brain blood clots, grand mal seizures, intermittent blindness and a stroke. Even in the throes of death, Michele fought the good fight without complaint and always with a sense of humor.

Michele is a 1992 graduate of Lapeer West High School. Continuing her education, she earned a BBA in accounting from the University of Michigan in 1995 and a MBA with a focus on leadership from Seattle University in 2005. After earning her CPA license, she leveraged these experiences into consulting and trading in the energy sector including Cascade Natural Gas and Imperium Renewables. She also was a commodity stock trader in Chicago, Illinois.

Michele continually helped others, even volunteering to work with AIDS patients. From 2008 to 2015, she was a Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at Michigan Technological University in Houghton. Teaching was her nirvana – she loved her students.

Michele is survived by her husband, Mark Pittillo of Chassell; her two dogs, Rosie and Walter; brother-in-law, Scott Pittillo of Los Angeles, California; parents, Michael and Elaine (Hadden) Loughead; her sister, Sara Loughead of San Diego, California; brother, Michael Loughead of Waverly, Iowa; and grandmother, Margaret Loughead. Greeting her in Heaven is her sister, Cherish; her Grandma and Grandpa Hadden; and her uncle, Richard Loughead.

With Michele’s spirit of caring and striving to help others, she chose to donate her body to the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, so that others might live.
