Deborah A. (David) Swetich

BALTIC – Deborah A. (David) Swetich, 54, a resident of Baltic, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at home with all of her family by her side, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on July 22, 1962, in Hancock a daughter of the late Arthur and Marion (Harvey) Erickson. She was raised in Houghton and attended the Houghton Schools.

She had worked at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility as a Housekeeper/Laundry Aide for the past 15 years.

Debbie was a kind-hearted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who would put everyone first before herself, you couldn’t ask for a more special person in their lives that she had touched.

Debbie took in and treated individuals as her own child. Debbie is well known for her love, strength and big heart. It was because of the love Debbie gave to others, she was nicknamed “Queen” by those special individuals she took in and cherished as her own.

Debbie touched many hearts and will be missed dearly by many people.

Preceding her in death are her son, James Joseph Laux; her parents, Arthur and Marion (Harvey) Erickson; sisters, Lisa Backman and Tammy and Tracy Erickson; niece, Kayla Korpela; and nephew, Mitchell McGlathery.

Surviving is her beloved husband, Dave Swetich; her buddy, Junior (dog); sisters, Lori (Clark) Korpela and Darlene Erickson; daughters, Angela (Chris) Dimmer, Stacey (Jason) Laux, Stephanie (Ben) Wolck, Kristie (Brandon) Laux; grandchildren, Tayler, Torianna, Jacelynn, Anabelle Dimmer, Kylie Anderson, Alaina & Ava Jukkala, Maija Wolck and Daylan VanAcker; numerous nieces and nephews; and  a special nephew/son, Michael Zenner; and special niece/daughter, Crystal Hoover.

Deborah’s family would like to thank Aspirus at Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they gave.

A time to remember Debbie and a potluck will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the South Range Bingo Hall.
