ESCANABA — Raymond Hosking passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on January 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Hancock on August 25, 1925, to Lillian (Polglase) Hosking and Raymond J. Hosking. He resided in the area until high school graduation at which time he joined the Army Air Corps and served during World War II.
Upon his return from the service, he graduated from Michigan Technological University with a degree in forestry and worked at his chosen profession all of his life, always preferring to be in the woods to most other places with the exception of Arizona, which he loved.
He married his lifelong partner, Margaret (Laplander) Hosking from Dollar Bay, and together they raised seven children, Carol, Raymond, Gail, Mary, Jean, Richard and Robert.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Carol; and his parents.
Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 11 a.m
It is through our tears we rejoice that he is in the heavenly kingdom with his Lord whom he served during his lifetime.
