Eva M. Lahti
Eva M. Lahti, 96, a resident of Mohawk, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at her home.
She was born on February 26, 1921, in Jacobsville to Frank and Katherine (Loukkanen) Kuusisto.
She attended Chassell High School and graduated as valedictorian with the Class of 1939. Following high school, Eva attended Suomi College.
On June 30, 1945, she was united in marriage to Waino Lahti in Jacobsville.
She was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Fulton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Katherine; her husband, Waino; two sisters, Linda Savolainen and Edna; and three brothers, Samuel, Edward and John.
She is survived by her daughters, Corrine Leppen of Laurium, Christine (Al) Olson of Mohawk; nine grandchildren, David (Kristen), Jeff (Jennifer), Jill (Lanny), Janelle (Hans), Greg, Aaron, Daniel, David and Thomas; 11 great-grandchildren, Austin, Bradley, Maxwell, Vern, Abby, Rita, Rodney, Macie, Keegan, Brielle, Kaisa, Bridget, Chase, Kirby and Anna; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Fulton. Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., and at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
