Jean L. Paull
LAURIUM — Jean L. Paull, 97, a former resident of Laurium, the Bluffs and recently of Portage Pointe died on September 4, 2017.
She was born on October 9, 1919, in Houghton to William and Lillian (Mager) Verran.
Jean graduated from Hancock High School in 1936. On August 29, 1942, she was married to her sweetheart, Wendell Paull in Republic.
She was a lifelong member of the Trillium Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star 304. A devout Christian and member of the Laurium Methodist Church, she loved to share her faith with others.
Jean will be remembered for her artistic skills. She was a talented musician on the organ, a self taught oil painter and made beautiful and intricate needlework.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 69 years, Wendell; her parents, sister-in-law, Viola Maierle and her husband, Albert; and a nephew, Wendell Maierle.
Jean is survived by her nephew, James (Janice) Maierle; niece, Sharon Maierle; other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends across the country and in Cornwall, England.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Laurium United Methodist Church (Kearsarge Street Laurium) with Pastor Jayme Palaszewski and Pastor Ken Toth to officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Church.
