ANN ARBOR — Mrs. Aileen Dinsmore, of Ann Arbor, 92, passed away on November 23, 2017.
She was born in Baraga, on June 24, 1925, to Peter and Lyyli Putala.
She graduated from Baraga High School and went on to move to Detroit, where she worked as a secretary for the arsenal during the war and later on for different auto companies.
She married David Dinsmore on June 18, 1949, and moved to Royal Oak where they raised three children. She will be remembered as a loving, kind-hearted woman who loved animals, playing cards and often told stories of growing up on a farm. She was also the best Finnish pasty maker ever!
She is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Arvo and Arthur; sister, Aura; and her husband, David.
She is survived by her three children, son, David (wife Deborah) of South Burlington, Vermont; daughter, Catherine Dinsmore (husband Russell Cooke) of Williston, Vermont; and daughter, Marilyn Gileczek (husband Alan) of Chelsea. She is also survived by several grandchildren, AJ, Brian, Jenna, Katie, Emily and Todd; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a short service following at 1 p.m.
