Ronald ‘Moiky’ Moilanen
MASS CITY — Ronald “Moiky” Moilanen passed away at 77, in his home in Mass City, on November 24, 2017, after a long illness.
He was born in Mass City on August 4, 1940, to Wiljo (Bill) and Huldah Moilanen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sally; son, William (Renee) Moilanen of Iron Mountain; daughter, Leona/Nona Moilanen of Mass City; stepsons, Paul (Shawn) Lindstrom of Hastings, Minnesota, Steven (Teresa) Lindstrom of Ishpeming and Brian Lindstrom (Melissa LeGault) of Ontonagon; sister-in-laws, Sandra Uotila of Mass City, Pat Luttinen of Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, and Jo Ann Luttinen of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother-in-law, Jack Luttinen of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother, Bruce Moilanen of Coldwater; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous niece’s and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Wayne; and brother-in-laws, Michael Uotila of Mass City and Paul Luttinen of Wyalusing, Pennsylvania.
Ron drove truck most of his life and loved traveling all over the country. He always loved playing baseball, dartball, shooting pool and stock car racing. He was a diehard sports fan always rooting for the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.
Ronnie was a loving husband and a wonderful father, papa, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
At the request of Ron’s family there will be no services at this time. Graveside services for Ron will take place at Rousseau Cemetery in the spring.
The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon is assisting the family with arrangements.
