Carol Eileen Fisher
HANCOCK — Carol Eileen Fisher of Hancock passed away on December 20, 2017, at the age of 71 at the Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, after a short fight against complications of metastatic esophageal adenocarcinoma.
Carol had worked for many years in several hospitals and as a self-employed consultant in hospital accounts receivable in the Cleveland, Ohio area. In 1995 she took a position at the Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome, Alaska, where she met and later married her husband, David, who had also just taken a position at the hospital. In 2000 they purchased a small party store in Hancock and ran it together as “The Shottlebop” for almost 16 years, enjoying doing that more than anything they had ever done, especially getting to know so many good people, and sharing many experiences and ideas.
Besides her husband, David, she is survived by her sisters, Cindy Piovarchy and Linda Andrews of the Cleveland, Ohio area; brother, Paul Kraft and wife, Judy, of Toledo, Ohio; also many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Great Britain.
She was predeceased by younger brother, Gary Kraft.
She will also be missed greatly by David’s family including David’s daughter, Angela Fisher; brothers, Allen and wife, Ramona Fisher of Eyota, Minnesota, and Robert and wife, Deborah Fisher of Dryden, New York,; and sister, Susan and husband, Mark Hewes of E. Hampton, Connecticut.
Memorial Services are as yet unplanned but will try to accommodate friends and family who are widely dispersed.
