Charles P. Manninen

ISLE ROYALE LOCATION — Charles P. Manninen, 61, a resident of Isle Royale Location, passed away Tuesday morning, February 20, 2018, at the Omega House in Houghton.

He was born on May 1, 1956, in Hancock, a son of June (Tauriainen) Manninen and the late Earl Manninen. Chuck was raised in Isle Royal Location and was a graduate of the Houghton High School with the class of 1974.

Chuck had worked as a parts person for Ed’s Used Parts, Carp’s Used Cars and Copper Country Ford. He also worked construction for Julio Contracting before running his own business, CPM Construction. Chuck also bartended for the Copper Bowl in Ripley, Poochie’s Pub and the Range Lounge.

Mr. Manninen was united in marriage to Betty Maki and then Sharon Butkonen.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and working on various projects.

Preceding him in death were his father and infant brother, Alan.

Surviving are his children, Erik (Melissa) Manninen of El Paso, Texas, Jeff Manninen of Altoona, Wisconsin, Carey (Ryan) Delaney of Jackson, New Jersey; six grandchildren, Wesley, Gordon, Henry, Donna, Amanda and Jordan; his mother, June Manninen of Isle Royal Location; his brothers, Robert Manninen of Escanaba, and Dean (Karen) Manninen of Tapiola; his sister, Marian (Robert) Peltier of Dollar Bay; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his wife, Sharon Manninen of Hancock.

As requested, no service will take place and burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton.
