Alden Edward Juntunen

CALUMET — Alden Edward Juntunen, 81, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.

He was born on September 24, 1936, in Detroit, to Edward and Eleanor (Koski) Juntunen.

As a young child, he moved with his family to Chassell. He attended Chassell High School and graduated with the Class of 1954.

Following high school, Alden enlisted with the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after six years of service as a dental technician in 1963.

After the service, he moved to Detroit and worked for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years.

Alden moved back to the Copper Country in 2014 residing in Calumet, and in Florida during the winter months.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul A. Juntunen.

His is survived by his sisters, Gloria (Dale) Randle, Sharon (Gordon) Congdon, Lucille (Wilbert) Rajala and Marilyn (Paul) Kilpela; his two aunts, Helen Lund and Ruth Emery; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Toth to officiate.

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
