Bernard ‘Benny’ Michael Mazurek
FLINT — Bernard M. Mazurek, 68, passed away on December 11, 2018, at Sugarbush Manor, in Flint.
Benny was born on September 25, 1950, in Ontonagon, to Stephen S. and Florence (Gregorich) Mazurek. He attended the Ontonagon Elementary and High School.
Benny was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon while growing up.
Benny left Ontonagon after high school and moved to Flint. He was hired into Buick Motor Division (GM) in 1969 and worked for 32 and a half years until his retirement.
On May 15, 1976, Benny married his wife, Linda Hardenburgh in the United Methodist Church in Flint. They have one son, Craig Mazurek, who survives him, along with his wife, Kelly Hosmer, and two grandchildren, Hayley and Hudson.
Benny is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Janice) Mazurek of Ontonagon, Stephen (Lawrence) Mazurek of Clearwater, Florida, and Jack (Mary) Mazurek of Ontonagon; his sisters, Kay (Mary Lou) Mazurek of Oak Brook, Illinois, Patricia (Pat) Brusorio of Texas, and Mary Jane (Ronald) Crang of Montrose; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; and his dear friends, Dave and Lucy Taylor and family of Grand Blanc.
Benny was preceeded in death by his wife, Linda, in 2012; and his brother, William, in 1999.
Funeral services and visitation were held on Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Swartz Funeral Home, Inc. Cremation followed the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Sugarbush Manor for the wonderful care extended to him showing such compassion. Heartland Hospice assisted in his last days which was a blessing to all of us.
