Carl Groitzsch

BRUCE CROSSING — Carl Groitzsch, 84, left this world on March 26, 2019.

Carl was born in Painesdale on June 5, 1934, to Oskar and Elsa Heil Groitzsch. He started school in Painesdale and graduated from Hancock High School in 1952.

He began his career with the State of Michigan at the Copper Country San and retired from the Porcupine Mountain State Park in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings and their spouses, Werner (Lottie), Ursula (Clarence) Hill, Ruth (Charlie) Peterson, and Ann (Royce) Nault; and a niece, Carolyn Peterson.

He is survived by his wife, Fay Sorensen Groitzsch; their children, Lee (Rene’), Sheri Bishop, Roy (Pamela), and Todd (Ute); grandchildren, Natasha (Tyler) Moore, Chet (Kelly) Bishop, Sophie Bishop, Aaron, TJ, Oskar and Spencer; great grandchildren, Quade, Adeline, Knox, Maya, Olivia and Hilton Moore, born March 30, 2019; nieces and nephews, Paul (Ruth) Peterson, Mark (Judy) Peterson, Chris (Mark) Walden, Tim Peterson, Gerald Hill, Linda Hunt, and Steve Hill; many in-laws; and a host of friends.

In keeping with Carl’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
