Promotion well-deserved for Sinotte

Congratulations go out to the top executive at UP Health System-Marquette who, corporate officials tell us, is now the top executive for all of LifePoint’s and Duke LifePoint’s facilities and associated services in the Upper Peninsula, including UP Health System-Portage in Hancock and UP Health System-Bell in Ishpeming,

Brian Sinotte has been promoted to market president of UP Health System, effective immediately. He will retain his duties in Marquette.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to step into this new role and help ensure that residents in our region continue to have access to the highest quality health care services close to home,” Sinotte said in a corporate press release distributed to area media. “By taking a regional view of health care and effectively leveraging the synergies of all three markets, I believe we can create a stronger and even more vibrant UPHS for generations to come.”

Sinotte started his job in Marquette in August 2016. Prior to that, he had worked in top leadership positions in LifePoint medical care facilities in several states including Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Virginia.

By all accounts, things have improved at UP Health System-Marquette, after what might diplomatically be called dodgy management and community relations. We add our congratulations on his promotion.
