Grief program was a success

To the editor:

The board and members of the Community Coalition on Grief and Bereavement would like to thank all who helped make the program “The Impact of Loss and Grief on Children and Teens” a success. Over 40 bereaved families attended.

Thanks go to The Portage Lake District Library for the use of their conference room and to Chris for setting up the room for us. We also thank Kurt at the Mining Gazette for two excellent articles and Todd at WOLV for the interview on Children and Teen Grief.

Our presenter Dr. Larry Skendzel M.D., director of the Bereavement Camp Star in Big Bay, gave an excellent presentation on Camp Star and ides for helping children and teens on their journey through grief.
