It is time to give him to God

To the editor:

If you have been reading the letters from David Keranen, please allow me to explain why he doesn’t “get it.”

1 Corinthians 2:13-16 — “When we tell you these things (the apostles), we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him? But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”

Christians, we have talked to this man over and over again, and we could keep talking until we are blue in the face. We have done our duty. We have presented him with the Gospel. He refuses the good news. It is time to give him to God.

We need to pray that God will touch his heart and change his life, as he has done with millions of others.

If the things of God are empty to you, this is a sign that you do not have God’s Spirit. Pray for God to touch you and cause you to understand the things you do not understand.

If you seek him with all your heart, you will find him, and he will give you the joy of his presence, his wisdom and understanding and his ever-present love and goodness.
