God still remains in control

To the editor:

It is safe to say that our American culture has been deteriorating without exception in every area of American life for a long time. These domains include religion, politics, morality and the environment. Yet while everything is worsening, knowledge is ever increasing.

Religion: Christianity appears to be losing ground mainly through compromise. But the Islamic plan to bring Sharia law to America began nearly 40 years ago during George W. Bush’s presidency when Saddam Hussein was in power, accelerating greatly throughout Barack Hussein Obama’s regime.

Politics: Crybaby liberals. Donald Trump was duly elected president. Progressives claim to abhor bullying but they continually bully our president, and worse. A good read for them might be The Deplorables’ Guide to Making America Great Again by Todd Starnes.

Morality: Many folk aren’t satisfied with how they were born. Straight people become homosexuals. Transsexuals try to change gender. Even Plastics of Hollywood is creating human dolls–spending millions on surgery–to look freaky and weird. Are these people really any happier?

Environment: No surprise regarding the snowflake meltdown over President Trump’s exiting from the Paris climate change accords. Such global unions exist solely to gain worldwide governmental control.

Still, amid these troubling times, all is not hopeless. God remains in control and that will never change. Read about him in the one and only book he inspired men to write.

We may think that our sins are small and not of much consequence. But the Bible says, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” James 2:l0

In Acts 2:38 Peter said, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Not that baptism is required, e.g., the thief on the cross, but it is always associated with true repentance. Only a transformed heart and mind can consistently obey God and love others which explains why we need the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
