Baby in womb is separate person
To the editor:
“And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” Isaiah 59:14.
I am writing this letter with a burden on my heart to speak up for the thousands of unborn human babies that are being killed every day through abortion, and to call my guilty nation to repentance for this national sin against God and our unborn neighbors.
Approximately 60 million babies have already been cruelly put to death, and this is defended as a “woman’s right to choose.” But the baby being formed by almighty God in the mother’s womb is a separate human being, not part of the mother’s body. She is not free to take that life. Anyone who consents to or aids in the murder of this precious life is sinning against the God who said, “Thou shalt not kill.” Such persons will have to answer to God on the day of judgment for the innocent blood which they have shed, and murderers are among those that “shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
Judgment and justice in our country has been perverted so that those who attempt to prevent this blood-shed are often harassed or arrested for their deeds of love to save the unborn. Our government continues to condone and fund the abortion industry, betraying the helpless babies, whose lives they are supposed to defend.
Abortion is a real sin, and God’s justice demands real punishment for sin. “The wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23. God loves us, and does not want us to perish eternally in our sins. He calls us to repentance, and offers His grace and forgiveness to all who repent of their sin and believe upon Jesus Christ the Savior. He is able and willing to forgive repentant sinners since He gave Himself as a ransom for all upon the Cross of Calvary.
I would like to recommend adoption as a good and loving alternative to abortion in the event that a mother is not able to raise her baby herself. There are many couples who would gladly adopt a baby. There are also local crisis pregnancy centers ready to help such mothers in their time of need.
