Community wants to change thinking
To the editor:
The LGBT community is a powerful organization. It is attempting to change our country for the worse. Its values are contrary to the Holy Bible upon which our nation was founded. It is trying to change our way of thinking by claiming that LGBT ideals are totally acceptable and should be displayed with pride.
It is attempting to change our educational systems and have been successful in many curriculums. Many universities have employed ultra-liberal professors. Denial of free speech has come under attack and opposing opinions are sabotaged.
One addition to the original LGB is the transgender entity. Transgender people want to use the bathroom that they identify with and yet there is no valid reason why this is even necessary. Disposal of bodily waste can be accomplished by a transgender person in the bathroom that relates to the sex in which they were born without any interference. No need to disrupt other people’s lives.
The LGBT organization has stated that our country’s defense will be improved with acceptance of transgender soldiers. President Trump disagrees. How soon we forget about PFC Bradley Manning, a transgender soldier, was convicted of being a traitor. Manning leaked 750,000 documents with an untold cost to our military and nation.
Manning opted for gender reassignment surgery (sex change operation) and changed his name to Chelsea. The enormous cost of this operation was paid for by all taxpayers. The rehabilitation time for this procedure is months, provided there are no further complications. To get this surgery Manning staged a hunger strike to make the Army pay for his gender reassignment surgery.
Manning served only seven years of his 35 year sentence when he was commuted by President Obama on Jan. 17, 2017.
Compare Obama’s pardon with the recent pardon by President Trump of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
“Sheriff Arpaio is now 85 years old and after more than 50 years of admirable service to our nation, he is [a] worthy candidate for a presidential pardon” according to our president.
Arpaio was convicted earlier on a criminal contempt for ignoring a federal judge’s order “to stop detaining people because he merely suspected them of being undocumented immigrants,” according to an article in The Washington Post.
Arpaio was doing his job to the best of his ability and was targeted by the opposition for “targeting” potentially undocumented aliens. Kudos to Trump on pardoning Arpaio
