Houghton High blood drive
To the editor:
On behalf of the U.P. Regional Blood Center, I would like to thank Houghton High School’s Dan Groeneveld, Hancock High School’s Ally Fenton, Finlandia University’s Patrice Lompre, UPHS-Portage’s Angela Luskin, Upper Great Lakes Family Health Natalie Larson, Chassell High School’s Mary Markham, Calumet Senior High School’s Joe Hefflin and Jeffers High School’s Addi Huuki for hosting blood drives in the month of March and April. As a result of everyone’s effort we collected an outstanding 150 pints of blood. Each pint can save up to 3 lives. The blood collected from the support of the high school, college and community members gave us the potential to save 450 lives. These donations are used to support UPHS-Portage, Aspirus Keweenaw and Baraga Co hospitals to name a few. Thank you for supporting your community hospitals.
