To the editor:

Since early morning of Sunday, residents of the Copper Country have witnessed  how fortunate we are  living in this community even when facing  adversity.  Municipal  employees  (police, fire and public works), private entities and scores of volunteers continue aiding others.  Although outside assistance is needed, yoopers  are being proactive so what needs to be done gets done. As residents of Houghton (Agate Street), we know how amazing our employees are from the top down — working now, not waiting for others to help, knowing that we are under a time crunch to put our city and county back together.

This is to let all of them know that we love them and appreciate them. As yoopers we don’t take anything for granted, and this is truly the reason when we see them all in action.
