Copper Country Strong at quarry
To the editor:
On June 20, we joined the lines in and out of Valley View Quarry. We were in a relatively small half-ton Silverado amid of Houghton county Dump trucks on a common mission -to get gravel to repair damage caused by flash flooding. The manager was gracious and helpful in the midst of huge demand. He personally loaded our truck and charged us a reduced rate. We made four additional trips for loads of gravel and dirt. Each time we were greeted and helped professionally and warmly by each employee we encountered. We wish to salute these who in the midst of high demand and long hours maintained a warm smile and a helpful manner as well as admirable skill. Valley View also set out three piles a varying size gravel with a free shovel to those who were willing to dig in.
