We all are part of community

To the editor:

We each see many examples of anger, selfishness, and greed. After the Father’s Day flood we saw many examples of a community coming together to help neighbors in need.

You may have noticed several quiet examples of community support. Several rescue workers, local and out of town teams, youth groups, religious communities, businesses, organizations, volunteers, familie, and individuals prayed and donated time, and money for those in need.

We didn’t hear these godsends calling out their own helpful deeds. These helpers put aside their own commitments and recognized the need to help now.

The community love that is currently being shared helps all of us to see each other as brothers and sisters. Their quiet examples shine light on all of us to become the best version of ourselves. What if we could pray for the help together? What would happen if we all were able to let our light shine?
