Fair Tax, term limits needed

To the editor:

I like what Mike Dickson from South Haven, Michigan, had to say in a former editorial. “The current system is so inefficient and unfair. We need to replace the income tax, payroll tax, capital gains taxes, death taxes and hidden corporate income tax with the Fair Tax. Also, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan was supporting a national sales tax. He admits that the sales tax is the way to go.”

Whatever happened to the 10 percent flat tax idea? No tax to those earning less than $20,000. That might be the way to go – everybody pays!

Sales tax might be another way to go. After you pay the sales tax, prices will stay virtually the same. I also like that under the Fair Tax the underground economy will finally pay their fair share. Pay as you go, keep your paycheck. Everyone pays based on what they spend. I like it.

Our applesauce politicians won’t go for this, as they would have to pay. We need to run those politicians out of office who are making $170,000 per year and working 167 days a year. Some House members work only 118 days. That means congressmen get paid $1,474.58 per day – doing nothing but spending the American people’s money. If America is to survive, we need to have a change now. Congress is out of control – this is why we need term limits now!

From the Capital Voice: Tax his cow, tax his-goat, tax his pants, tax his coat, tax his crops, tax his work, tax his tie, tax his shirt, tax his chew, tax his smoke; teach him taxes are no joke. Tax his tractor, tax his mule, and teach him taxes area a rule. Tax his oil, tax his gas, tax his notes, tax his cash; tax him good and let him know–after taxes he has no dough. If he hollers, tax him more; tax him he’s good and sore. Tax his coffin, tax his grave, tax the sod in which he lays. Put these words upon his tomb: “Taxes drove me to my doom.” And after he’s gone he can’t relax; they’ll still be after inheritance tax!
