Give devotion to ending wars
To the editor:
Congratulations on the efforts of so many local constituencies who have put together an impressive program, World War I Copper Country.
My father served in that war and never spoke about it.
I can’t help but think that rather than memorialize a 100-year-old war that was supposed to be “the war to end all wars,” we should be devoting our energies to ending the current wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, which are astonishingly expensive, strategically incoherent, before they take the life of or wound one more American soldier.
