Ways of man lead to death

To the editor:

David Keranen’s effort to impress us with his degrees piled higher and higher, is to be pitied. I’d bet his parents regret the day they sent him to college.

There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end leads to death. Proverbs 14:12. Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse (Romans 1:20).

Someday David will stand before Jesus, his maker, and explain how in spite of his vast knowledge, he just did not understand what Jesus did on the cross. Unfortunately it will be too late. Not only did he not accept his sacrifice, but tried to lead others into hell.

But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.

Which of all these do not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind (Job 12:7-10).

Although they claim to be wise they became fools (Romans 1:22). Do not deceive yourself, if any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a fool so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight (1 Cor 3: 18-19).

If the animals know, who can’t read or write, we are without excuse.

The only reason I bother to write to you, David, is because, someday I’ll have to explain why with my knowledge of the scriptures, I did not speak up. Be sure your wife reads this. I’m an optimist. Just maybe, both of you can come to faith.
