Support for mite tournament
To the editor:
Over the weekend of Jan. 25, the Calumet Hockey Association hosted the 44th annual Mite Tournament. The frigid temps didn’t stop any of the teams or fans from coming out for a great weekend of hockey.
Without the support of many local businesses and our community, our tournament wouldn’t have been such a huge success. We’d like to thank the following tournament sponsors:
Michigan Tech University, Royale Fabricating, Calumet Machine, Calumet Electronics, Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital;
The Bluffs Senior Community, Finlandia University, Hancock Bottling, Pats Foods-Calumet, Bucko’s Party Store;
Burger King-Calumet, Copper Dog 150, Mayflower Construction, Bird’s Eye Creations, GS Engineering;
River Valley Bank, Calumet High School hockey and basketball teams, Erickson Crowley Funeral Home, Calumet Golf Course-Jazzy’s, Louie’s Fresh Market;
The Hut Inn, Dairy Queen-Houghton, McDonald’s-Houghton, Neals Daycare, Steve Teddy;
Millers Recreation, UP Health and Fitness, Walmart, Ace Hardware, Econo Foods;
Center Ice, Insight Eyecare, Harter’s Party Store, Copper Island Printing and Toni’s Country Kitchen.
In addition to all of these outstanding sponsors, we’d like to thank all of the parents and families for your help in making it a great weekend. We’re proud to call the Copper Country home and for all the great people who give so generously to our youth hockey program. The Calumet Hockey Association thanks you!
