Brainstorming — BRANE-storm-ing — a spontaneous (unrehearsed) group discussion to produce ideas and ways of solving problems
Example: "Susan Cain of the N.Y. Times considers brainstorming destructive to truly creative thinking: 'Such sessions have been shown to be one of the worst possible ways to stimulate creativity, and the bigger the group, the worse the performance.'"
