Whistle-blower — someone who informs on someone else engaged in an illicit activity
Example: "A N.Y. Times article on the current presidential administration claimed ironically that the Obama administration, which promised during its transition that it would enhance 'whistle-blower laws to protect fed workers, but has been 'more prone than any administration in history in trying to silence and prosecute fed workers.'"
