Shabbas goy — shah-bahss goy — a non-Jewish person who assists with activities that are restricted on the Sabbath, like turning on light switches, etc.

Example: "In Stanford magazine, Tanta Luhrmann mentioned the need for a shabbas goy, but in her Israeli home could never find one to help her when needed."
