Weltenschaung — VEL-ten-SHAUNG — a particular philosophy or view of life, of an individual or a group

Example: "I'm late with today's word because I spent an overnight, taped from nose to toes with wires, for a sleep apnea test (doctor's orders), with an Igor-like nurse hovering the bed and, later, in another room, monitoring sounds, TV camera, etc. from midnight to 6:30 a.m. Had plenty of time for a weltenschaungen experience!"
