November 12, 2012 - Scott Viau
Acrid — AK-RID — angry, bitter, with a strong and unpleasant taste d.t.s — DEE TEEZ — short for "delerium tremens," the hallucinating effect from excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks

Example: "David Denby's review of the movie 'Flight' comments that 'It is not acrid or cruel, like Billy Wilder's "The Lost Weekend," in which we see the world through the eyes of Ray Milland's character as he suffers the d.t.s.'"
