Community EventsSet Sail for the St. Lawrence Seaway
The Adventures in History series presents "Set Sail for the St. Lawrence Seaway" for grades K-8 on Wednesday, July 22 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Eagle Harbor Community Center on M-26 in Eagle Harbor. In a classic story, Paddle to the Sea, a young Canadian boy carves a tiny boat that is launched from the headwaters of the Great Lakes and floats all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of this important waterway. Make your own boat to launch and explore the challenges your boat will meet along it journey to the sea. The Adventures in History in Keweenaw County Michigan for Children and Adults is sponsored by the Keweenaw County Historical Society. Pre-registration is required. Registration forms are available at Historic Society sites and by calling 289-4666.
