Going Fishing - Bay de Noc attracts anglers
Gladstone's fishing pier is a popular place for anglers.
Walleye fishing in the Bays de Noc attracts anglers from all over the country Bass, bluegill and perch are also plentiful in local waters. Trout fishing is good is western Delta County. Brook trout and Brown trout can be found in rivers and streams near Bark River and on the Days River. The Escanaba River also has a reputation as a prime fishing location, especially the section between Cornell and Boney Falls, according to the Department of Natural Resources. Rainbow and brook trout can also be found in streams around Rapid River near U.S. 41 and in Haymeadow Creek off County Road 523. In eastern Delta County, the Corner Lake Chain holds crappie, northern pike, perch, walleye and bass and panfish. Besides an excellent campground nearby, Chicago Lake also holds panfish, northern pike and perch. In the spring, smallmouth bass are abundant among the shoals and dropoffs in both bays, but especially in Big Bay de Noc. Seek smallmouths in shallow water around the edges of the bays near
