DETROIT (AP) — Detroit police say a car fatally struck a man in the city's Midtown area.
Sgt. Michael Woody tells The Detroit News (http://bit.ly/1dOEfqf ) that the 58-year-old man was crossing the street against a red light and was hit.
Woody says the driver stopped at the scene. The man who was struck was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the pedestrian wasn't immediately released.
