Stephanie Marie Karppinen

RAPID CITY, Mich. — Stephanie Marie Karppinen, 17, of Rapid City, formerly of Houghton and Hancock, passed away May 6, 2008.

She was born September 16, 1990 in Hancock, the daughter of Larry J. Karppinen and Joan Underhill.

Stephanie was a senior at Kalkaska High School. She attended the Career Tech Center where she was involved in the visual imaging arts program. She had been accepted to the Illinois Institute of Arts in Chicago.

She loved being with her friends. Stephanie had the best sense of humor and a great laugh. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Stephanie is survived by her parents, Larry J. Karppinen of Houghton and Joan Underhill of Rapid City; her sister, Laura Sue Karppinen of Kalkaska; her grandparents, John and Betty Underhill of Dallas, Texas and Carol (Greg Lewis) Karppinen of Houghton.

Services for Stephanie will be Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior.

Memorials may be given in Stephanie’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 W. 14th Street, Suite 5, Traverse City, MI 49684.
