Elma M. Aho

FULTON LOCATION — Elma M. Aho, 87, a former resident of Fulton Location and current resident of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008, at Portage Hospital in Hancock.

She was born on December 28, 1920, in Mohawk, a daughter of the late Matt and Hilda (Usitalo) Maki. Elma attended the Mohawk School.

On September 2, 1944, she was married to Wesley Aho and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1996.

Elma enjoyed crocheting and baking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; grandson, Gary Rowley; and four sisters, her twin, Helen Olson, Laila Loven, Martha Wirsu and Aili Saari.

Surviving are a son, Wesley Aho of Fulton Location; daughter, Donna (Robert) Rowley of Westland, Mich.; grandchildren, Mark (Kelly) Aho of Ahmeek, Kelly Aho of Fresno, Calif., Robert (Jamie) Rowley of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Tom (Kerina) Rowley of Whitmore Lake, Mich., Steve (Tanya) Rowley of Beaverton, Ore., Brenda (Brandon) Mattson of Paw Paw, Mich.; six great-grandchildren; sister, Elsie of Washington; brother, Carl Maki of Mohawk; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private family services will be held in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet with Paul Isaacson to officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
