Fast response

May 24, 2008
The Daily Mining Gazette
I would publicly like to commend and thank the City of Hancock Fire Department for its fast and professional response to a fire I had at my business, World of Wood, on Hancock Street on April 10.

Let me just say, when first asked for a detailed floor plan of my business by the fire department, I thought it was unnecessary. At the time of the fire, it became clear how necessary it actually was.

Once at the fire scene the fire department efficiently deployed fire trucks and firefighters and immediately began an attack on the fire which resulted in the fire being promptly extinguished.

With the quick response time, no wasted moves and no more damage caused than was necessary, clearly demonstrated the exceptional training of these courteous firefighters.

This quick professional response kept the fire contained to a small area of my building that resulted in minimal damage to the overall building.

I am thankful that the Hancock Fire Department is well trained and knowledgeable in fighting fires. They truly are a first class department.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

MARK KORPELA, owner
