DOLLAR BAY — Donald A. Kallio, 47, of Dollar Bay, died Tuesday morning, May 20, 2008.
He was born in Hancock on May 14, 1961, to the late Ralph and Aili (Kantola) Kallio. He attended Dollar Bay Schools, later earning his GED at Houghton High school.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was employed at various area businesses, including the Mariner North in Copper Harbor, Great Lakes Plastics, Louie’s Super Valu Foods in Lake Linden, Directions Unlimited in Hancock, and others.
He enjoyed mountain biking and relaxing at Sandy Bottom Beach in Dollar Bay.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, David Kallio.
He is survived by his twin brother, Daniel Kallio of Dollar Bay; brothers, George (Susan) Kallio of Hollis, Maine, Ronald (Kathy) Kallio of Hancock, and Paul Kallio of Lower Michigan;a sister, Eleanor Bjerk of Colorado; a good friend, sister-in-law, Gladys Kallio of Lake Linden; a good friend, Steven Kela of Dollar Bay; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be announced later from the O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock.
