HOUGHTON — The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a break-in Thursday night at a gas station south of Houghton on U.S. Highway 41.
“They gained entrance through a front door that was busted in,” Sgt. Dan Judnich said. “Beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets were stolen.”
Judnich said the thief or thieves broke the glass out of the door at the Citgo Quik Food Mart.
He said the incident took place sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 6:00 a.m. Friday, when a gas station employee discovered the break-in and reported the incident to police.
Judnich said the Sheriff’s Department is reviewing surveillance tape from the night and pursuing other leads.
“We’ve got some suspects, but we’re working on it,” Judnich said.
